ClearPoint Integrates ICMA Data Into Municipal Measures Library For Enhanced Benchmarking
When we first created ClearPoint, we intended for the software to act as a cloud-based application that would track an organization’s performance management.
When we first created ClearPoint, we intended for the software to act as a cloud-based application that would track an organization’s performance management. Soon after launching ClearPoint we signed up dozens of new clients who were tracking goals, KPIs, and projects, and we partnered together to help them execute their strategy. Among these clients were several municipalities who were interested in publishing information to the internet for their citizens to see, and wanted an all-inclusive solution that would help them increase transparency and engagement within their communities. In response, we enhanced ClearPoint with the capability to create Community Dashboards nearly six years ago.
As our municipal clients started using ClearPoint more and more, they began asking for a way to share information with one another in the hopes of learning how other high performing local governments were measuring performance. This call became loud and urgent when ICMA shut down its “Insights” software, and we responded.
When we first launched the ClearPoint Municipal Measures Library back in February, our goal was to create a platform that allowed local governments from around the world to share the measures they are tracking, in the hopes of encouraging increased collaboration and performance among municipalities. Today, we are taking the Measures Library a step further with the integration of additional ICMA benchmarking data. For the first time, we are giving members of the ClearPoint Municipal Measures Library exclusive access to data collected through ICMA’s pilot jurisdictions as well as their Performance Management Advisory Committee.
If your municipality used to participate in ICMA Insights or you have an interest in comparing your data to the more than 80 measures that ICMA released in early August of 2017, you can now do so directly from within ClearPoint. We added these measures to the list of more than 250 that our existing municipal clients are already sharing in ClearPoint. Now, from within ClearPoint, organizations can view, download, and link to all types of data to help their organizations improve performance.
While we’ve enhanced the original Measures Library with this new feature, we’ve still maintained the library’s initial framework and purpose of increased collaboration and performance. The Measures Library seamlessly encourages increased engagement, as members can continue to interact with the data provided, easily add their own performance measures, receive email notifications when updates are made, and network with other local government leaders through the contact information provided for each member organization. Measures can be searched for, filtered for, and categorized based on program areas such as transportation, public safety, and public works, and best of all, municipalities can quickly and easily integrate the measures that they see and like throughout the library into their own scorecards within ClearPoint.
