Strategy execution stands as one of the toughest challenges for leaders today. Gathering data from multiple sources, ensuring reporting consistency, and keeping an entire organization engaged and aligned — all while under pressure to save time and resources — often feels like an uphill climb.

Enter ClearPoint Next, the next evolution of ClearPoint Strategy's software platform. It’s designed to make strategy management faster, clearer, and more collaborative than ever before.

We revealed the new features of ClearPoint Next in our recent webinar and fielded lots of questions from attendees as well. If you missed it, you can get the highlights in this post; you can also watch a quick 3-minute video to whet your appetite!

Smarter Data Collection with Automated Workflows

One of the biggest headaches in strategy reporting is collecting accurate, timely updates from teams spread across departments.

ClearPoint Next tackles this with powerful process automation that lets admins create step-by-step workflows and track submission progress. We've improved our workflows from the classic version of ClearPoint so that it’s easier to manage all the pieces, and so you can visualize the process of reporting. You can get a summary view and visuals on data updates, and even set up and review email reminders to go to the individuals responsible for making the updates. This ensures that data is collected on time without the usual back-and-forth emails or manual chasing.

A dashboard in ClearPoint Strategy showing a Quarterly Review Update workflow. It highlights 62% Complete progress and lists various strategy tasks like 'Delivery Bots' and 'Smart Supply Chain Optimization' with their completion status and owners, demonstrating the workflow automation feature.

End users see their tasks clearly in intuitive workspace pages, where they can easily update data and access instructions.

Most importantly, this automation saves HOURS (or even days) of administrative time each cycle. It also drives accountability and consistency so that leaders can focus on insights rather than data wrangling.

Better Strategy Insights with AI

The integration of artificial intelligence is a standout feature of ClearPoint Next, amplifying reporting and analysis capabilities to new levels.

ClearPoint Next features an AI assistant that can analyze data, generate short-term and long-term trend summaries, create branded charts, build formulas across scorecards and KPIs, and even incorporate complex calculations — all using natural language, no coding needed.

A chat window from the ClearPoint AI Assistant demonstrating the ability to create a new Scorecard ('International Airlines') and a follow-up conversation to add objectives to it, showcasing the AI's natural language interaction for setup and management.

The initial interface of the ClearPoint AI Assistant showing its welcome message and suggested prompts like 'Show me my strategic objectives,' 'Analyze performance trends,' and 'Review at-risk items,' highlighting the start of an AI-powered interaction.

Many people struggle with making calculations, an area where AI is particularly helpful. To calculate YTD actual in ClearPoint, for example, simply set it as a calculated series and ask the AI assistant to make this a YTD sum of actual. And just like that — it pulls together the calculation formula! Hit save and you’re all set.

AI can also create various types of charts depending on your needs. For instance, you can turn a bar chart into an area chart with just a short, directive phrase: “Make this a gantt chart.”

ClearPoint Next’s new AI features empower users to quickly turn raw data into meaningful narrative and visuals for reports without specialized skills.

In upcoming releases, our AI tool will become even more powerful, acting as a strategy assistant capable of conducting SWOT analyses, comparing department performance, and suggesting strategic initiatives based on data — all directly within the platform. This embedded intelligence helps organizations be more proactive and strategic in decision-making.

Enhanced Reporting and Engagement

Clarity and engagement are foundational to excellent strategy execution. ClearPoint Next delivers both with beautifully branded, customizable reports and dashboards.

Users can drag and drop report elements and charts, and filter elements, to craft layouts that resonate with their organization's style and priorities, making complex data easier for leadership teams to absorb and act upon.

A ClearPoint Strategy Measures dashboard for Domino's Corporate, featuring multiple performance charts for metrics like 'EPS (Earnings Per Share),' 'Revenue ($M),' and '% Increase in Same-Store Sales (YoY),' illustrating customizable performance tracking and visualization.

The platform's built-in communication tools facilitate active collaboration. Users can comment, mention colleagues, flag issues, and participate in discussions directly within reports.

One of the challenges that we hear from people is that they get so many great details in ClearPoint that they don't know how to summarize their work.

AI can help here again. It can produce summaries that automatically write your executive summary or exception report. It will highlight what's off track and why, giving leaders the insight that they need. (We use this feature pretty regularly at ClearPoint!)

A detailed view of an Objective: 'Increase Shareholder Value' in ClearPoint Strategy, featuring an owner, an Analysis summarizing a revenue shortfall and positive expense management, and three Recommendations for cost reduction and revenue growth, showcasing AI-generated or user-inputted strategic detail.

A screen detailing a strategic Objective: 'Improve Operating Margins' with an Analysis section summarizing challenges, a list of four Recommendations (e.g., 'Conduct a cost-benefit analysis'), and associated Measures and Initiatives, demonstrating AI-driven insight and recommendation features.

Integration with Microsoft Teams takes engagement further by pushing notifications, enabling data updates, and sharing briefing books seamlessly through familiar channels. These connections break down silos and create a culture of shared accountability for strategy execution.

Other highlights of ClearPoint Next:

  • Seamless data integration and bulk editing—ClearPoint Next supports multiple options for importing data, from manual edits in data tables to scheduled database connections and direct imports of Excel or CSV files. The new upload and download functionality allows users to bulk edit initiatives and measures offline and then upload changes with a click.
  • Accessibility across devices—ClearPoint Next is designed to be device responsive, allowing users to update and review their strategy from phones, tablets, or computers.
  • Organization-wide visibility for alignment—The AI strategy assistant can look across your entire account and compare departments, find high (and low) performers, and look at all of your projects to identify conflicts.
  • Coming soon: AI SWOT analysis—It’s still in development mode, but soon you’ll be able to ask the AI assistant to identify your organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Watch for it in the coming months!

One of the best things about using ClearPoint: The AI assistant will, in time, know everything about your strategy. If you've been using ClearPoint for one year, it has one year of data. But if you're one of our long-term clients and you've been using ClearPoint for 10 or more years, it’ll have 10 years of data — that’s like having a strategy consultant built into your system that can continuously help guide your next steps.
