Our team members work hard, and we value them immensely. Here are a few of the ways we say thanks!

Open Vacation Policy

You’re not restricted to a specific number of sick or vacation days. We trust you’ll take what you need.

Great Location

Headquartered in Washington D.C., our location has everything you could want nearby—from restaurants, to bars, to food trucks galore.

Snacks

Did we mention we like our food? Our office is always stocked with snacks and drinks to tide you over while you’re hard at work. (And rumor has it there’s a pretty great pumpkin ale in the kegerator.)

Team Events

We like to hang out as a team. And when we say hang out, we’re referring to team BBQs, zip lining, race car driving, singing karaoke, riding segways… only the most typical company activities, of course.

Off-Site Team Trips

Twice a year, our team has a three-day, off-site trip. Recently, we’ve traveled to New Orleans and Las Vegas.

Co-Working Space

We work in a shared space with other cloud software companies—and often have joint cornhole tournaments and happy hours.

Compensation & Coverage

With a competitive salary, 401(k) program, and fully paid health, dental, and life insurance, we’ve got you covered.

Job Openings

Finding the right members for our team is critical. So while we won’t be able to respond to
every applicant, we will review every application. If we think you could be a good fit for our
team, we’ll get in touch with you shortly.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for that unique person that can help us build a world-class automated testing and quality assurance system. Someone who is excited about the idea of creating something (almost from scratch) that will help us ensure that we deliver an error-free experience to our global customer base.

We’re not looking for someone who wants to sit in front of a screen all day going through a checklist to test – instead, we’re looking for that special combination of brilliant and efficient who can turn our mostly manual testing process into something that we can run at the click of a button (in Jenkins).

We want it all – regression testing, unit testing, integration testing, front end, back end, and eventually chaos monkey – but we firmly believe in the concept of making the investment up front in processes and technologies so that we’re not wasting our time doing stupidly repetitive tasks.
Given the size of our team (really small) compared to the size of our client base (growing fast), we take testing very seriously. We’re a small team, and we’re going to stay that way (at least for the immediate future, so we’re not looking to hire 10 average people — we’re looking for the one exceptional one).

Our Stack

The technology stack used to power our application is comprised of various components and technologies, including RESTful APIs, AngularJS, NodeJS, C#, Lucee, SQL Server and PHP. We are big fans of highly modular components that work together to form a good overall solution. We run on Amazon AWS, using Docker containers, virtual private clouds, elastic load balancers, etc., etc., etc. We like Linux but use Windows where necessary. Basically, we’re a fully modern stack (getting there was interesting, ask us about it in your interview).

Skills & Requirements

There are two things that a successful candidate will possess: A sharp mind and a willingness to roll up his or her sleeves and “get things done.” Efficiency and effectiveness is the name of the game, whatever the journey requires. We’re pragmatists and value results.

We’d love it if you had (or were willing to acquire in short order):

  • A good understanding of Javascript and its many uses
  • Experience with test libraries such as Protractor, Mocha, Chai or similar technology
  • Understanding of REST APIs and how they work (i.e., status codes)
  • Understanding of TDD and its role/importance
  • Familiarity with Postman/Newman
  • Familiarity with how modern web applications are structured
  • Experience with a modern front-end framework (ideally AngularJS)
  • Experience with a back-end application server (we use Lucee)
  • Understanding of build systems (we use Jenkins)

What We Offer

We like to think of ourselves as an ideal “hybrid” of a startup and an established company. We’re small and nimble, like a startup, but we’ve been around (founded in in 2008), so we’ve proven that we have staying power. We are continually exploring new markets, but we’ve found product-market fit in key verticals (like municipalities). Basically, we offer a lot of the work experience of a startup, but with the security of a company that’s been around for a while.

In a nutshell, we offer:

  • Ownership: We’re a small team, and we empower our people to pursue novel approaches.
  • Challenge: What we’re doing isn’t easy. We’re working every day to solve interesting and hard problems.
  • Skills: There’s zero stagnation here. We use the latest tools and technologies every day.
  • Variety: You can touch all parts of the stack and see your influence on real, live, shipping products.
  • Creative input: Ideas are valued from all corners of ClearPoint, and we work fast.
  • Community: We hang out together. We take care of our people and believe it makes us stronger as a company.
